The 40-storey Taunusturm office block stands in the very centre of Frankfurt’s banking district. This new building contains office space for the most discerning of commercial tenants across 60,000 m². When prospective tenants view the building, they are guided into the Marketing Suite, which has been set up on an otherwise empty storey to provide inspirations for the design of future work environments. The idea is to do more than simply visualise floor space requirements, fixtures and fittings; it is about illustrating possible typologies of the working world. We show functionalities, proportions and use options, without prescribing a particular design.
Abstract spatial scenarios transform spatial parameters into a tangible experience for interested parties. The respective roles of the rooms are scenographically implied through various conjectural objects. A transparent spatial design, in which room outlines are suggested by means of linear framework structures or by curtains and translucent gauzes, means the whole storey can be seen at a glance. Printed photo panels appear to float and play with perceptions of vision and reality.
The Taunusturm Marketing Suite is an unconventional aid for potential tenants. Its spatial-communicative orchestration helps tenants find ideas, impulses and inspirations for their new work environment.
