Trade fairs and exhibitors alike used the time following the pandemic to fundamentally rethink their formats. In 2024, four renowned German brands will take to the stage at Orgatec with a fresh concept. On a shared exhibition stand, the four manufacturers will each present their product niche: furniture from Walter Knoll, carpets from Object Carpet, textiles from Zimmer & Rohde and lighting from Sattler. Each product area plays an outstanding role in the design of work worlds in its own right – yet only comes fully into its own in conjunction with the others. We see this as an opportunity to create a shared platform with a separate area for each of the four brands and, more importantly, to create zones in which they overlap.
Intersecting circles and segments
We devised the 840 m² stand area as a floating architecture of textiles and light with an open marketplace at its centre. Around this, we use circular areas to formulate individual spaces and themed areas, and create collaborative segments where they overlap
Visitors are invited to discover spatial scenarios, themes and product stagings through layered transparencies, material collages and surprising perspectives.
In the process, they get to know the portfolios of the individual manufacturers that, taken together, come highly recommended as the perfect combination for designing a high-quality work world. After all, what all four brands have in common are superb quality, durability, material depth and sustainability.
Lasting impression
To ensure that we pay more than just lip service to sustainability, the exhibition stand concept revolves around a high level of recycling. Virtually all elements of the stand remain in the lifecycle.
Furniture, curtains, carpets and lights are reused by the exhibitors after the trade fair, most of the static infrastructure is rented and custom constructions are kept to a minimum. The latter include the reception counter and bar, which we constructed from recycled wooden panels that are further recyclable.
Bringing together these four well-known brands creates a trade fair presence with strong synergy effects and a high inspiration potential for designing visionary work worlds. A stand that leaves a sustained impression and is in itself sustainable.
