Visualisations for Waldmann

Waldmann is a lighting manufacturer from the German Black Forest, whose name has been synonymous with innovative lighting systems for offices and industry for 90 years. In 2023, Waldmann commissioned us to create high-quality visualisations that show their products in use in an office setting and illustrate the manifold possibilities of lighting in an office environment.

The 15 visualisations, each showing different functional properties in activity-based working, are intended to show planners and similar interested parties the different options for using Waldmann luminaires. The images are also intended to inspire people to get creative with lighting design and make the best possible use of their lighting systems.

Light visualised

As part of the project, four lighting moods reflecting the basic functions of today’s working world were visualised: the Light of Concentration, Collaboration, Communication and Contemplation. The visualisations show the luminaires and their respective lighting effects in their various functions – from room ambience to orientation and zoning aids.

To properly emphasise the lighting effects in each fictitious room, we opted for mainly monochrome settings. Monochromaticity focuses the eye on the lighting conditions and creates an effective stage for Waldmann’s simple, linear products. At the same time, it creates a striking image that is easy to assimilate. Each scene was rendered with the lights switched on and off to emphasise the intense influence that light has on the atmosphere of a room.
