The four floors of rental office space are accessed via two entrances as well as through the underground car park. The office spaces are grouped around four atria. Each has its own character, from which we derived the internal place names: ‘secret garden’ and ‘floating landscape’ for the two open inner courtyards, and ‘under the tree’ and ‘green neighborhood’ for the two covered atria. The place names reflect distinctive spatial elements – meandering paths in the courtyard, a cluster of trees or overgrown walls – creating easily identifiable places. We deliberately chose English names to reflect the intended international target group.

Orientation circles are also located on the glass doors in the underground car park, stairway and conference rooms. These indicate the next functional area in your direction of travel. In the outdoor area, orientation pillars help with arrival. In line with Heads’ comprehensive sustainability concept, these are illuminated by specifically insect and bird-friendly lighting.

Heads was realised in our studio as an interdisciplinary project between interior architecture and communication design. Thanks to this close collaboration, the wayfinding system integrates perfectly into the spatial concept in both colour and design.
