Fantasia’s smart town offers a workspace campus with office space and serviced apartments. Our show office is designed to reflect the diversity of different work models: from the classic, top-down hierarchical understanding, to more agile structures with short decision-making and a high level of personal responsibility – everything is possible here. The focus is always on networking between companies. The idea is for employees from all areas of the IT sector to feel at home and to have the opportunity to meet spontaneously across different locations. This creates exciting synergies and a community that works together to master the technological challenges of the future.

The smart town, devised by project developer Fantasia, is a hub providing office space and serviced living to influencers and innovative IT companies in the Sci-Tech City of Hangzhou. It will be home to a dynamic and creative community, with networking writ large. In addition to a sales centre, we have also designed a show office in which contrasting work typologies enter into tantalising dialogue. The result is a tactile, precise space with a contemporary character. As a direct translation of the concept and context of the smart town into the language of interior design, our show office renders this unique flair real and tangible to companies seeking office space.
Networking across company boundaries
In our show office, we collate these different requirements and outline concrete workplace typologies. We dissolve the perimeters of the room, and inject depth and dynamism into the space. In so doing, we avoid long, anonymous corridors and instead create exciting experiential spaces, which encourage unplanned encounters and spontaneous exchanges. The use of high-quality, natural materials such as wood and marble creates an appreciative and supportive environment. Soft textiles promote an intrinsic sense of well-being, giving the offices a home-like character with a high amenity value. The spring-green furniture and wall coverings have an additional vitalising effect. Together with the green outdoor area, which is just as suitable as a place for meetings as it is for a break in the fresh air, they reflect the longing for immersion in nature and a healthy everyday work life.
The right workplace typology for every company
Our customer journey begins in the open lounge and event area. This space can be used flexibly: as a canteen or coworking space, for after-work drinks or a pitch presentation – depending on the company, multiple communicative scenarios are imaginable here. Communication also plays a major role in the offices. These days, work no longer solely takes place at your own desk, which is why in addition to classic, individual workplaces, open spaces, cafés, various conference rooms and hot desks can be found, bringing employees together in ever-changing constellations. Finally, in addition to these communicative and collaborative situations, you will also find the traditional Chinese CEO suite with a dining room, conference room and a reception area for a private secretary.
Different companies have different work structures. Our show office, however, offers the right typology for every kind of company.
