A light and elegant pharmacy located in the historical building of a former tollhouse in Porto, that merges the classical demands of the subject with the contemporary client’s expectations towards cosmetics and treatment. The three-aisled historical space impresses with its generous height and massive natural stone walls throughout the building. In an elegant sculptural gesture, a platform in the former entrance area evolves to a stairway which connects the pharmacy on the ground floor with the cosmetics area on the upper floor. The old and the new are brought into a sensitive dialogue in order to create a highly functional place with an unforgettable atmosphere.
