The Fabulous World of Plastics.

Bayer MaterialScience AG: Plastics Fair 2004

On the occasion of the world’s largest plastics fair, Bayer MaterialScience documents the strategic, global alignment of this international concern on an area of around 1000m². Following a complete reorganisation and renaming of the sub-group as Bayer MaterialScience, establishing the new company name and documenting its highly innovative product and service portfolio were key goals.

+more-less

Through the form and positioning of large futuristic façade walls with a matching floor graphic, the overall stand space is clearly structured into three exhibition zones: Best Practices, Best Services and Best Ideas. In each of these, Bayer MaterialScience materials, technologies and services are presented. The projecting and retracted façades conceal unobtrusive entrances into closed conference areas behind.

So-called ScienceLights run through the entire exhibition stand over a length of 90 metres, providing a basic structure for displaying exhibits. Like a network illuminated from within, a translucent white Makrolon® (the best-known Bayer MaterialScience material) molecule structure grows up to 7 metres in height with the help of special rapid manufacturing technology. This basic visual is designed to be used as a three-dimensional leitmotif for future exhibitions, trade fairs, internal presentations and interior spatial design.
