A frame structure of untreated wood with partially unfinished, open walls creates the basis for the stand presentation. This grounded basis serves as a key image: it stands in contrast to the visionary openings and emphasises the innovative force inherent in the Brunner brand. Transparent backdrops in parallel rows parcel out the 660 square metre area by means of a wooden skeleton framework of supports and beams, underscoring an open and communicative spatial impression. Openings and sightlines allow individual scenes to merge to form an overall impression within the shell-like structure – without removing the focus from the products themselves. Chairs tower up on an ascending plane created by podia of different heights, thereby drawing the visitor into the stand. High, translucent hangings and a wall of chairs stretching up to the ceiling help emphasise the verticals in the stand construction.
The form, materiality and colours of the furniture come into their own against the oversize white areas. Individual items of furniture, which cry out to be arranged and combined with each other, present themselves to visitors like ingredients for individual experimentation. An invitation to mix and match! In line with the guiding principle ‘Anything is possible’, the scenery stresses the essential compatibility of different requirements and standards – possible in both co-working spaces and individual offices. The pared back architecture of the exhibition space is pierced by colourful communication islands and densely furnished areas. Textile areas on the floor, with a colour palette derived from the product world on display, accommodate seating groups, create zoned areas and shift the focus onto the theme of meeting place and exchange. Draft designs on oversize, recycled rolls of sketching paper fixed to the walls recall the craftsmanship roots and design philosophy of the family-run company Brunner.
The stand architecture resembles the construction structures of theatrical stage sets. This deliberately unfinished character is emblematic for an invitation to imagine your own finished space using products from Brunner.
