BOSS 3D-printed Façade

The newly renovated BOSS store’s facade at İstinye Park, Istanbul is a harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and sophisticated design. It showcases our commitment to pushing the boundaries of architecture and materiality. In collaboration with pioneering 3D printing company Aectual (Amsterdam) – we reimagined the store’s facade to reflect the impeccable style of BOSS.

The design works like an added layer, resembling a giant sun sail covering almost the whole front of the building. Starting at the rooftop downwards and opening outwards at street level in an elegant curve to welcome customers and passers-by.

Drawing inspiration from textile weaving, the façade translates the intricate wefts and warps of BOSS’ garments into a stunning 3D-printed facade known as Space Fabric. Spanning 73 square meters, 136 unique pieces interlock like a puzzle. The innovative facade, not only serves as a second skin but also provides shading and temperature control, ensuring both beauty and functionality.

Beyond its striking appearance, the facade embodies sustainability. Crafted from recyclable materials, it can be returned to Aectual for reprinting, aligning with our commitment to eco-friendly practices.
Complemented by serene Turkish limestone, this facade explores new possibilities for luxury retail architecture, harmoniously blending contemporary innovation with timeless elegance.
